LWL Bronze Award – Awarded August 2011- Cost ££

Having just visited Gilbert Whites House and garden we walked through this small picturesque village to The Selborne Arms for a lunchtime snack. We chose the Baked Devonshire Goats Cheese wrapped in Parma Ham, served on a bed of seasonal leaves and topped with Hazelnut, Rocket and Parsley Pesto, £5.95 which was very tasty although the few salad leaves could have been more plentiful!

I asked for some bread to go with our dish which I would have expected to be included with the melting cheese! I was then charged another £1.75 for a couple of slices of a baguette.

It is difficult to judge the overall food quality from our small sample and having looked at their menu there is a good selection at moderate prices. View their website for more details. Cost ££

Please help to spread the word by telling any restaurants you visit that you tried them because you were recommended by LWL in Hampshire… Thank you! .

The higher the “Yummy” factor, the better the food & service. The higher the number of £ signs the more expensive. (Roughly one £ sign = £5 per head)
